We believe in a more sustainable future for Ohio.
We are like minded people, connected.
Sustainable Ohio was formed from a partnership of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), The Ohio State University, Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), The United States Business Council For Sustainable Development (USBCSD), Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO), and individual partners in 2010. The BPS Network spun out of this collaborative group of civic-minded entities.
We are an industry group of passionate people who hold a variety of positions in various companies. Throughout each year, we collaborate and form partnerships and synergy work groups, improve operational efficiencies and assist colleagues.

Our roots date back to 1990 as a local litter prevention and recycling organization known as “Keep Franklin County Beautiful”. In 2009, we recognized a broader mission of sustainability and reorganized as the Central Ohio Sustainability Alliance (covering Franklin County and parts of the central Ohio region). In 2010, the geographical boundary was again broadened and the organization Sustainable Ohio, a non-profit 501(c)3, was created.
The mission of Sustainable Ohio is to educate and assist Ohio organizations reduce their environmental footprint. Sustainable Ohio is governed by a Board of Directors that is led by Barbara Revard, former Sustainability Director at The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. The day-to-day operations are administered by Megan D. Moses, President, and David Leff, Secretary-Treasurer.
